Where Prayers Catch the Wind by Lisa Marie Jones, medium abstract artwork in layered blues, soft pinks and gold, professionally framed

Where Prayers Catch the Wind

A contemporary abstract artwork exploring movement, intention, and atmospheric flow.

Where Prayers Catch the Wind is an intuitive abstract work inspired by the gentle power of movement — the kind that carries intention without force. It speaks to moments of offering, trust, and the quiet faith placed in unseen currents.

Where Prayers Catch the Wind, original medium abstract artwork by Lisa Marie Jones with flowing gestural marks and prayer-flag inspired movement

The Artwork

Inspired by prayer flags encountered in the Himalayas, this work reflects devotion in motion rather than destination. Soft layers of blue create a spacious field, while blush, gold, and white marks move horizontally across the surface, echoing fabric lifted and shaped by wind. Painted intuitively, the piece evolved through layered mark-making and expressive linear gestures, allowing movement and pause to coexist. The composition feels both grounded and lifted, inviting a slow, contemplative viewing — a visual prayer carried outward, offering a sense of calm, reflection, and gentle release.
